UTM Builder — Campaign URL Generator

Build trackable UTM links for Google Analytics (GA4). Tag every campaign so you know exactly what drives traffic and leads.

Quick guide

  • source = where it comes from (facebook, google, newsletter)
  • medium = the channel type (cpc, social, email)
  • campaign = the promotion (raya-2026, launch-sale)
  • Keep everything lowercase and consistent — GA4 treats Facebook and facebook as different sources.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a UTM link?

A UTM link is a normal URL with extra tracking tags (utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign, etc.) added to the end. When someone clicks it, Google Analytics (GA4) records exactly where the visit came from — so you can see which Facebook post, email, or campaign drove traffic, leads, and sales.

What's the difference between utm_source and utm_medium?

utm_source is the specific platform the traffic comes from (facebook, google, newsletter). utm_medium is the type of channel (social, cpc, email, referral). Example: a paid Facebook ad would be source=facebook, medium=cpc; an Instagram bio link would be source=instagram, medium=social.

Why should I use UTM tags in Malaysia campaigns?

Without UTMs, GA4 lumps traffic into vague buckets and you can't tell which channel actually works. Tagging every campaign link lets you measure real ROI per source — essential before scaling ad spend. It's free and takes seconds with this builder.

Do UTM tags affect SEO?

No — UTM parameters don't hurt SEO when used on campaign/ad links (not internal site links). Avoid adding UTMs to internal navigation links, as that can fragment analytics. Use them only on outbound campaign URLs (ads, emails, social posts).
